Top 10 most asked questions Can a Strackk wall shelf be mounted on my (plaster) wall?

A Strackk wall shelf can be mounted on any flat wall at least 12mm thick. The wall can be made of plaster, concrete, wood, hollow partition wall, panel, iton, or anything else.

Do not tighten the screws too tight on a concrete wall or very strong wall, as this could cause the board to warp. If warping occurs, loosen the screws by 1 or 2 turns, and after two hours the board should hang straight again. If this is not the case, please contact us at +31 853036191.



Using a spacer plate between the board and the wall may be possible, but it is not what we recommend and we do not take responsibility for it.

A Strackk wall shelf with lighting cannot be directly connected to the standard 220 volt power outlet. A cable comes out of the shelf that goes to the socket via a controller and power supply. It is best to hide the wiring in or behind the wall for a clean look. Please read our manual to ensure proper power supply from the wall.



The wiring can be concealed in 3 ways:

  • A groove or empty conduit in the wall. Refer to the images below.
  • Drilling and running it behind a hollow wall.
  • Prefer not to groove and plaster? The wiring can run through a tiny notch in the wall to the left or right behind the shelf into a (cooling) cabinet, curtain, or you can place a vase or other object in front of the wiring.

Order color sample Can I control the lighting with Philips Hue or another Smart Home system?

Yes, for an additional charge, you can indicate during your order if you want to connect the shelf to the smart home system Philips HUE, Dali, Casambi or Zigbee. You will not receive our standard remote control as you will control the light through the app of your smart home system. You will then receive a different controller that can be linked to your bridge at home. The connection of the shelf to the HUE, Dali, Casambi or Zigbee system is your responsibility to arrange.


Strackk does not take responsibility for the connection itself and the operation of non-Strackk products. It is advisable that the connection and installation be carried out by an electrician or specialist.

More info lighting How much weight can a Strackk wall shelf carry?

The design of the innovative suspension system combined with the extremely strong material allows a floating wall shelf from Strackk to support up to 250 kg/m. This is unprecedented for a floating wall shelf without visible brackets.

A Strackk wall shelf can be hung on stone, concrete, plaster, iton, or MDF walls, as long as the wall is at least 12mm thick. If too much weight, more than 250 kg/m, is placed on the shelf, the shelf will not break but the wall might. The maximum weight capacity depends largely on the quality of the wall.



Mounted on a stone wall, the shelf can hold up to 250 kilograms per meter. On a plaster or MDF wall, this is up to 80 kg/m. A wall shelf with lighting has slightly less load capacity, up to 80 kg/m, which is still sufficient to hold all your heavy books.



We are talking about general load capacity, not point load.



Each shelf comes with high-quality multifunctional plugs and screws, suitable for any type of wall.

Overview wallshelves Can I order the shelf without logo?

That is not necessary. You can place the Strackk logo in or out of sight yourself. With each wall shelf, you will receive 2 metal strips, one with and one without a logo. Place the strip with the logo in the groove on the mounting side, then the Strackk logo will be out of sight.


The metal strip in the laying side makes your shelf magnetic at the level of the strip on the underside. This allows you to attach our accessories, such as magnetic hooks or a cabinet, by clicking them under the shelf.

Yes, you can specify your desired dimensions and color during the ordering process.

Length:

Any length, down to the exact centimeter, from 20 up to a maximum of 700 cm is possible. Our machines are precise, but there may be a margin of error at the millimeter level, which is why we do not offer that precision.

Depth:

You can choose from 12.5 cm, 16.5 cm, 22 cm, or 29.5 cm deep


Color:

View the 100+ colors in which we can deliver our Strackk products. Unsure about the color or finish in matte fine structure or satin gloss? Order aluminum color samples so you can assess the color at home in your own light and interior.

Yes, with the premium 'Shelf with lighting underneath and around' as well as the 'Wall lamp', you can control the two light zones separately. You will receive a remote control with which you can set both zones separately in terms of color (warm to cool light) and dim the brightness.




If you order multiple shelves with lighting, we assume they will be hung in the same room. You will then receive 1 driver and 1 controller to which the different shelves are connected. You will also receive 1 remote control to operate the different shelves simultaneously.


Are you going to hang the shelves in different rooms? Contact us so we can deliver the shelves separately with one driver, controller, and remote control per shelf.

Info lighting How is the shelf delivered?

Each Strackk product is made to measure. Once your order is received, we start working on it and 6 to 8 weeks later you will receive a message from the carrier regarding the actual delivery to your home.



You will receive the shelf in a specially designed box. Strackk provides plugs, screws, a measuring profile, and a spirit level with the shelf. Read our manual to be well prepared. Hanging a wall shelf with lighting requires a bit more preparation due to the cable concealment. Read the manual for wall shelf with lighting.


Please note:

  • Carriers only deliver to the ground floor entrance. You are responsible for moving it to another floor.
  • Strackk relies on external carriers such as GLS, TNT, Off Size Cargo and therefore cannot be held liable if your product is delivered late.

The lighting integrated by Strackk into the wall shelf is energy-efficient LED lighting. Strackk offers 3 models of a wall shelf with lighting. The shelves with lighting 'under' and 'under and around' provide more light downwards, making them ideal for a kitchen shelf with task lighting above the counter.

  • You can dim the light intensity yourself and also regulate the color from cool (white) to warm (yellow) light
  • Power consumption: 24 volts, 14 watts per meter
  • Luminous flux: 1,000 - 2,000 lumens per meter
  • Color temperature: 2,700 - 6,500 Kelvin
  • CRI: 90%

Strackk offers 3 models of a wall shelf with lighting. In all models, you can dim the light intensity and regulate the color from cool (white) task light to warm (yellow) ambient light using the included remote control or your smart home app. The color temperature ranges from 2,700 to 6,500 Kelvin.

The shelves with lighting 'below' and 'below and all around' provide more light downwards, making them ideal for a kitchen shelf with task light above the countertop.

Wall shelves with lighting Where is the light strip?

With the wall shelf with lighting on the underside, the light strip starts 2.5 cm from the left and right sides of the shelf. From the wall side, the strip starts 1.5 cm from the wall.


For ambient lighting, the strip is located at the back of the shelf (between the shelf and the wall), and the screws go through the strip into the wall.

 Can a wall (on/off) switch be installed between the lighting?

Yes, with a wall shelf with lighting, it is possible to install a wall switch, provided it is professionally installed by the customer. This also retains the last set light level entered using the Strackk remote control or your Smart Home system.

 Can the lighting be dimmed with a switched outlet using a wall dimmer?

No, the lighting can only be turned on/off with a switched outlet via a toggle switch.

 How good is the connection between Remote and Controller?
  • The connection between the standard remote and controller delivered by Strackk goes through Radio Frequency of 2.4 GigaHerz. Obstacles like a door of a closet in between do not play a role.
  • The connection between controller and remote works up to a large distance of approximately 25 meters.
 Can the LED lighting be replaced?

Yes. It hasn't happened yet because our LED strips have an extremely long lifespan (at least 20,000 hours). However, if the LED lighting has broken, the shelf can be fitted with a new LED strip. Describe and report your product issue here and we will contact you on how this can be arranged.

Report issue The lighting does not work (anymore), what to do?

Here are four possible solutions:


Foil new remote control:

Remember to remove the foil near the remote's battery.


Replacement Remote Controller:

When replacing the remote or Controller, they must be re-paired. First press the button on the controller briefly, then the light on the controller will flash. After this, briefly press the on/off button on the remote control. The lights will go off and then on again if the pairing was successful.


Controller replacement (white box):

If replacing or having an issue with the Controller then first check that the wires are in the correct connection WW = Orange, + = Brown, CW = Red, Power Supply + = Red - = Black.


Reset controller and re-register remote control:


First, press the button on the controller for 20 seconds, after this, the light on the controller will start blinking. The light will go out and then back on once the reset is successful. The remote control should now work again and not run out of battery quickly.

After resetting, the remote control needs to be paired again with the controller. To do this, press the match button on the controller (white box) once briefly, now the green light will blink. Then, press the power button on the remote control once briefly. The pairing is successful when the green light on the controller stops blinking. If this doesn't work, check if the light on the remote control turns on when you press the power button. If it doesn't, replace the battery of the remote control.

Installation manuals Where are the screw holes?

The screw holes are in the raised edge on the wall side. The hole pattern starts at 5 cm from the left (from front view) with a screw hole every 20 cm. This hole pattern is the same for every shelf, except that for both standard lengths and custom custom lengths, the last screw hole on the right side may come out differently.

We strongly recommend using the screws and dowels that Strackk included with the shelf.


If you have lost them or need new ones, we recommend buying and using the screws below from the brand Fischer

  • For shelf depths 22 and 29.5cm: Screws 6 x 60mm and Plugs 10 x 50mm long.
  • For shelf depths 12.5 and 16.5cm: 5 x 50mm screws and 8 x 40mm long wall plugs.
 How high should the wall shelf with lighting above the countertop?

The best height for a wall shelf with lighting below is just below eye level so that you are not looking straight into the light. That equates to about 60 to 70 cm above the kitchen counter.

These prices are for each address in the Netherlands for a maximum of 4 shelves and include VAT and transportation. Always discuss your situation with the installer beforehand and agree on the final price separately, outside of Strackk.

Installation info What are the sizes of a shelf?

Length:

Thickness:

Each shelf is 4mm thin at the front and the raised edge at the back/wall side is 4.2cm for a 29.5cm deep shelf. For a 22cm deep shelf, it is 4cm. For the 16.5cm and 12.5cm deep shelves, the raised edge is 3cm

The shelf is moisture resistant but cannot withstand water or liquid getting on the shelf or behind the metal strips for long periods of time. The shelf is made of recycled aluminum and the two strips of metal. Because of the powder coating on the metal, the shelf is moisture resistant but to prevent rust, it is important that water or any liquid does not stay on the shelf for long periods of time.

 Which weight can a magnetic hook carry?

A Strackk magnetic hook can carry 1 kilogram.

 Each shelf has a groove and loose strips, what are they for?

At every wall shelf, you will receive 2 metal strips. One with the Strackk logo and one without. If you prefer the Strackk logo to be less visible, place the strip with the logo on the side facing the wall. The other strip clicks into the raised edge on the side facing the wall to cover the screw holes.


The metal strip on the side of the shelf makes your shelf magnetic at the level of the strip underneath. This allows you to attach our accessories, such as magnetic hooks or a cabinet, underneath the shelf.

If you do not place the strip in the laying area, you can present a painting, photo, or open book in the ledge. Or, place our accessory wine bottle holder.

See accessories From which material are the wall shelf and strips made?

The shelf and accessories are made of 75% recycled extrusion aluminum. The color you have chosen is applied through powder coating on the raw extruded aluminum.


The 2 included strips are made of metal and are therefore magnetic, allowing you to attach our accessories, such as a magnetic hook under the shelf at the level of the strip.


Please note:

  • Each strip is well coated on the visible side and on the other side you will see a mounting print which is necessary during production. Of course, this is not visible when you place this strip in the upright and horizontal ridges. In short, this is part of installation and placement and does not affect the aesthetics.
  • If you choose the Raw Aluminum color, then the strips are made of aluminum and are not magnetic. In this case, one of the strips will be provided with stickers so that you can stick the strip in the ridge on the wall side (instead of magnetic attachment).
See accessories How sharp are the corners of the shelf?

Strackk's floating shelves are standard produced with right angles. For safety, the edges are rounded with a 5 mm radius, so that you do not have any sharp corners.


In the order menu you also get the choice to order your plank with rounded corners. The round corners have a radius of 30 mm.

Design your shelf Can a Strackk shelf also be miter cut?

Yes, we can miter 2 shelves so that this forms 1 shelf for an inside corner. At the top of the order menu, enter the total length (the left and right parts of the board added together) and the angle in degrees. On the assembly page you will find more information on how to measure the angle for a Corner shelf.

For 16.5, 22 and 29.5cm deep corner shelves, you can also add lighting.

Configure corner shelf Delivery time, transportation and returns What is the delivery time?

Each wall shelf is unique and custom-made for you with a delivery time of 6 weeks. Due to summer closures, the delivery time is now 8 weeks.



Once your order is received, we will start crafting your shelf to size from solid aluminum poles. The screw holes will be added, any necessary milling for LED lighting, followed by manual finishing. The shelf will then be sent to the powder coater for the desired color, assembly of the lighting, quality control, and packaging. We will then offer your order to a carrier who will deliver the shelf to you.

Notes:

  • The carrier / driver only delivers at the door on ground floor. You are responsible for moving it to another floor.
  • Strackk is dependent on external carriers such as DPD, TNT and UPS and can therefore not be held liable if your product is delivered later.
Assortment shelves Transport costs

The shipping costs range from €0 to €500 and are determined by the longest plank in your order and the delivery address. Additional shelves are included at no extra cost.

Yes, if you contact us within 7 days of receiving your order at info@strackk.com. This right of return only applies to shelves in standard lengths, without modifications such as slots and in our standard 5 colors. These are White RAL9016, Off-White RAL9010, Black RAL9005, Anthracite RAL7021, and Silver Grey RAL9006.


Returns are not possible for specific custom orders, products made exact to the cm, and colors other than our 5 standard colors for which a (down)payment has been made.


You will be responsible for the return costs through your chosen carrier (an indication of return costs can be found at the bottom of this page). To prevent damage, the products must be returned in their original packaging. Once we receive the products and check for damages, we will contact you to arrange the refund.

Return policy Warranty

Strack provides a 2-year warranty and of course also service after those 2 years. Parts can be supplied for a small additional cost. Expect around €25 for a Remote Control, Controller, or Adapter. The LED strip is replaceable, however, its lifespan is 20,000 hours and is generally not an issue.


Attention: Is the lighting or remote control not working? If the lighting still doesn't work after this or if there is another damage or issue, describe the problem via the button below and we will contact you shortly.

Report issue Prices What does a wall shelf from Strackk cost?

Strackk customizes each wall shelf. The final price for your shelf depends on your configuration. You make choices for depth, length, color, finish in matte or satin, straight or rounded corners, lighting, and additional options.



You can get a Strackk wall shelf starting from €100. This price includes a shelf that is 12.5cm deep and 20cm long in one of our 'standard' colors such as black and white. For a deeper or longer shelf, the price will be higher.



If you choose colors like gold, bronze, gunmetal, aluminum, or any other custom RAL color, there is an additional cost of €75 or €125. The extra cost for a color applies per order, so it's a one-time color fee — regardless of the number of products!

By default, every Strackk shelf has straight corners. For an additional cost of €100, you can choose to have 1 or 2 rounded corners.



You can add lighting to shelves that are 16.5, 22, and 29.5cm deep for €270. For lengths starting from 110cm, the price is €300; from 180cm it's €330, from 300cm it's €360, and from 550cm it's €390.

For shelves that are 29.5cm deep, you can add additional options starting from €60, such as slots for coat hangers or wine glasses. The price is per option — regardless of the number of slots for wine glasses. The shipping costs are determined by the longest shelf in your order and the delivery address. Additional shelves are included at no extra cost. So it's a one-time shipping cost — regardless of the number of shelves!

Business customers within the EU, except NL:
The price you pay is excluding VAT. In your order confirmation and on the invoice it is stated that the Dutch 21% VAT has been shifted / removed. Which means that you as a company are responsible for paying the applicable VAT percentage in your country on the products imported by your company.

Business customers within NL:
The price you pay via our website includes the legal VAT percentage 21%. In your order confirmation and on the invoice you will find which amount represents the 21% VAT.


Business customers outside the EU:
The price you pay through our website does not include VAT. Please note that when importing the products at the border (customs), your country may charge you import duties and the local VAT. This goes outside of Strackk.

 Payment is faling

If the payment fails, the allowed daily or transaction limit in your bank account app is often insufficient. In your bank app, you can request (temporarily) a higher daily limit so you can proceed with the payment.
